Instalación inicial de PhpBB3 (problemas)Tema Solucionado

Buenas, a ver si podéis ayudarme...

Intento instalar PhpBB3 desde cero en mi servidor (dedicado). Por supuesto, me he leído las guías y demás, pero no consigo nada. Bajo la versión inicial, decomprimo y subo con el cliente de FTP. Doy los permisos adecuados al config.php y a las carpetas que dice la guía de instalación. Pero voy a abrir con el navegador esta dirección para instalar:

http://www.xxxxxxxxxxx.com/foro/install/index.php

Y da este error:

500 Internal Server Error

También he aumentado (hasta el infinito y más allá) los valores en el servidor "memory_limit" y "max_execution_time", y como quien oye llover. El registro de errores del servidor da todo el tiempo que intento ejecutar el instalador esto:

Entiendo que se debe a permisos, pero juego algo más con ellos y tampoco logro nada. ¿Alguna idea?

Miraste los requisitos para la instalación de phpBB3?

•A webserver or web hosting account running on any major Operating System with support for PHP
•A SQL database system, one of:
◦MySQL 3.23 or above (MySQLi supported)
◦PostgreSQL 7.3+
◦SQLite 2.8.2+ (SQLite 3 is not supported)
◦Firebird 2.1+
◦MS SQL Server 2000 or above (directly or via ODBC or the native adapter)
◦Oracle
•PHP 4.3.3+ (>=4.3.3, >=4.4.x, >=5.x.x, >=5.4.x) with support for the database you intend to use.
•getimagesize() function need to be enabled.
•Presence of the following modules within PHP will provide access to additional features, but they are not required:
◦zlib Compression support
◦Remote FTP support
◦XML support
◦Imagemagick support
◦GD Support

Si los cumples, probablemente tengas algo mal configurado.
Por el error tiene más pinta de ser de los modulos de apache que de otra cosa.

Sí, el servidor va incluso sobrado para esos requisitos... habrá algo mal configurado (huele a permisos de archivo o carpetas), pero no sé qué es. Gracias

Tras darle muchas vueltas, está resuelto

Bastaba con darle a la propia carpeta /foro/ el valor chmod 755
